About Us

The Community Allotment at Butlers Hill aims to provide a focus for our Christian mission to our community.

We began in July 2008. At that stage the allotment was a jungle, overgrown with brambles and nettles and hiding a multitude of rubbish! The site was cleared in September and rotovated in October. By the end of the year we were able to start planning the layout leading to a good harvest in 2009!

We have made contact with a variety of organisations in the town including Sure Start and the Volunteer Bureau.

In 2010 we hope to encourage more local groups and organisations to make use of the site and get involved in events. Click on the 'events' option above for more details.
In April 2010 we held a 'Name the Allotment' competition to find a smart and snappy name for our allotment. This gave us our new name as 'The Tram Stop Garden'.
